Thanks for a great season and we hope to see you in the Spring and/or Summer sessions.

March 7 Thanks to all our swimmers and counters yesterday who helped make our annual swim-a-thon a huge success. For those of you that have turned in your pledge envelopes thank you, for those of you who are still collecting donations please try and get our envelopes in as soon as possible. We need to have all donations in my March 18th at the latest.
Feb. 15

Our annual swim-a-thon will be held on Saturday, March 6th from 12:30 to 3:30 at the Cheltenham H.S. pool. The swim-a-thon is great event for both kids and their parents. The kids have lots of fun seeing how many laps they can swim in a 2 hour period while raising money for our club, USA Swimming, and a charitable organization. This year a portion of the money we raise we will be donated to Yele Haiti and UNICEF to benefit the children of Haiti.

It is always best to have your family and friends donate a set amount of money as opposed to a per lap amount. You never know how many laps your child has in them once they get going!!! Each child who swims will get a certificate and those who swim over a 100 laps will get a pin from USA Swimming. These are given out at our end of season banquet which will be held in April.

We will provide some refreshments for all plus music to get the kids motivated. Feel free to bring some baked goods as well to reward hungry swimmers swimming for a good cause. Pledge envelopes will be available this week. Please ask your child's coach for an envelope.
We hope that you will support this important event. Remember in addition to helping Haiti this year, our fund-raisers also help to purchase equipment for our practices. We are in desperate need of flippers this year.

For those gold and elite swimmers who are not planning on attending dry-land at 5:45, please do not come to the pool until 6:10 when we get in the pool. If your child comes before 6:10, please make sure they know they will have to participate in dry-land and to bring sneakers.

TEST RUN - PLEASE WORK!!

Sept. 12

Hi Everyone:
Well we have good news and bad news. The good news is that we will be starting our full season on Monday September 21st as planned - the Elite group and HS swimmers will begin swimming on September 14th. The bad news is that we still don't know whether the district will be charging us to use the pool this year. The school board is meeting the second week of October to discuss the new proposed fee schedule. The school district has assured me that if they do decide to charge us it will not be retroactive. If the fee scheduled as proposed is approved, the club will pay for a portion of the surcharge per child for this year since it would be too large of an increase. The school is proposing to charge us for a portion of the chemicals for the pool, electricity and custodians. Honestly, there is no fair way to calculate these charges. We have sent numerous emails to the school board and school administrators explaining our position.

For now we will holding prices as listed on the attached flier, but if the proposal is approved and we begin to get charged by the district the extra amount we will need to charge for the season is $75.00 per child. If you choose to withdraw from the club at this point we will reimburse your fee less the weeks your child swam. We will also offer a payment plan for the fee if this will help keep your child swimming!
We have changed our registration policy slightly this year due to a large amount of request for information from potential new members. Registration will take place at the pool entrance as follows(PLEASE NOTE THIS A CHANGE FROM OUR ORIGINAL EMAIL AND FLIER):

September 17th 6:00-7:15 and September 21st 5:30-7:30 - Cheltenham Residents and Returning Members ONLY
September 22nd and 23rd 5:30-7:30 - Open Registration

Please download the registration form and fill it out before coming to registration to save some time.We are perplexed by the districts decision and will argue our position and go down with a fight especially after last year!! If we begin to be charged, we need to make sure that every youth community group in Cheltenham that uses school facilities are treated the same as us. If you know anyone in the district, please feel free to contact them and express your opinion.

.Thanks for your continuing support.

SEPT. 1

Dear Past, Present and Future CAC Members:
I know many have you have emailed and left messages asking about registration for the Fall/Winter season since we are a little late in getting our information out this year. The reason for the delay this year is we are waiting for a decision from the school district on whether they will be charging us this year for the use of the pool. The district is reviewing how it will rent out all facilities in the district not just the pool, but as usual it has taken longer than they originally told us so we haven't been able to set prices for the season.

Keeping our pricing low is directly tied to the cost of the pool. For the past 40 years the club has enjoyed the use of the pool for no charge. That said we are very hopeful the district will continue to see us as a community based organization providing a service to the children of Cheltenham Township and will continue to either not charge us for the use of the pool or keep the charge low.

The attached flier and registration form details what we hope will be the pricing and dates for the upcoming season, but are subject to change based on what happens with the pool rental. The prices listed in the attached document does keep prices the same as they have been for the past three years, but if the school district decides to change their policy prices will unfortunately have to go up.We have changed our registration policy slightly this year due to a large amount of request for information from potential new members. Registration will take place at the pool entrance as follows:

.Please feel free to e-mail us if you have any questions : info@swim4cac.org

Thanks for your continuing support.
